Find Your Light…Form Shade

Glowy, radiant, lit-from-within skin – your best skin, switches on. How delicious does that sound? That’s exactly why we created Lightform Extended Hydration Foundation and dropped it just in time for winter skin to make its dry appearance. Not only is this new foundation dewy, radiant, and flawless, but it actually improves your skin as you wear it. Clinically proven to improve skin radiance, hydration, and barrier function after just 1 week, Lightform doesn’t cover up skin with a faux glow, it actively improves skin from within to reveal the natural radiance that was there all along.

Okay, so you’re totally sold, right? Now the big question is “how do I find my foundation shade?” We’ve got you – in 36 shades. Here’s how to switch on your skin the Lightform way, and also your way.

Understanding your shade family.

One of the key factors in finding your Lightform shade is to understand which shade family you fall into. Within the 26 shades Lightform offers, they span from Light to Deep. Explore the Morphe Lightform pages to see which model most represents your shade family. Are you Light? Medium? Tan? Rich? Deep? Once you have discovered which shade family you fall into, then it’s time to find your undertone. There are three main undertones – warm, cool, and neutral. Warm undertones have hints of yellow or peach, cool undertones lean towards pink or blue, and neutral undertones strike a balance between warm and cool. We love doing the vein test – if the veins on your wrist are more green, you have warm undertones. Blue veins mean cool undertones. Neutral undertones are a mix of both blue and green veins.

Test it out in natural lighting.

Once you’ve received your Lightform shade (you can even order a few, since your skin tone can change depending on the season), make sure you test it out in natural sunlight since synthetic lighting isn’t always a true indicator of what a foundation looks like on your skin. Take a mirror and see what your Lightform looks like under the sun. This will ensure that your foundation shade blends in seamlessly with your natural skin tone.

Consider your skin type.

Your skin type may not affect your foundation shade per se, but how you wear your complexion products should be tailored to whether you are oil, dry, or combination. Lightform is a glowy foundation so if you are an oilier skin type, choose a Bake & Set Soft Focus Setting Powder to boost radiance where you want it and mattify and blot away excess oil from the places you don’t want it. If your skin type tends to be dry or more combination, Lightform’s skin-improving formula will help your barrier function and hydration so the glow will keep going.

Take a selfie (or ten).

Checking your foundation shade in natural sunlight is great – but what about your selfie game? Take photos of yourself in your new Lightform foundation and see how it fits in with your overall look. If it looks too light, too deep, or isn’t blended well enough, you can troubleshoot from there. Then send it to your bestie – after all, are they even your friend if they won’t tell you how gorgeous you look in your Lightform? Once you’ve found the shade of your dreams, don’t forget to set it with Continuous
Prep & Set Mist+.
